The GNSRA special of 13 June 1970 seen at Insch, is heading for Kyle, the loco was cut up at Swindon 7 years later. D5313 waits at Aberlour with the GNSRA'S last trip to Aviemore using the Seyside line on 2 Nov 1968. Possibly the last time two Class 26's would pass like this at Maud as D5307 takes the GNSRA'S last passenger special to Peterhead on 5 Sept 1970.
D5313 at Grantown-on-Spey East with the GNSRA'S last train to Aviemore via Speyside, 2 Nov 1968, the recent inset pic says it all. The times for the GNSRA last train down the Speyside line, 2 Nov 1968, note the max. speed along the Spey valley. D5323 seen here at Maud, heads a GNSRA special to Peterhead and Fraserburgh on 24 May 1969.
D365 with a GNSRA special changes crews at Perth on 12 Jun 1971. Can't see this being allowed now, a class 27, possibly D5414 gets the official headboard at Aberdeen for the the GNSRA'S trip to Oban on 10 June 1972. D5307 reverses onto it's coaches at Peterhead after they were gravity shunted into the station on 5 Sep 1970,the day of the Peterhead Farewell special run by the GNSRA.
