The Great North of Scotland Railway Association (‘GNSRA’) is committed to protecting the privacy and security of personal information entrusted to us. This data privacy statement is for Members of GNSRA and also for those who purchase items via our mail order service or online, make enquiries through our website or attend our events - referred to for this purpose as Customers This privacy notice describes how we, as “Data Controller” collect and use personal information about you during and after your relationship with us, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and associated legislation. It applies to the personal data of our Members and Customers . The kind of information we hold about you GNSRA collects, stores, and uses the following personal information about you:- · Name · Address · Telephone number(s) · Email address(es) · Subscription Status · Account number/sort code (note 1) · Credit/debit card number (note 1) note 1 = only if supplied by you (it is deleted once the corresponding transaction is complete) GNSRA does not collect or hold any other personal information about you How is your personal information collected? GNSRA typically collects personal information about our Members from application forms or subsequent updates provided by Members . Personal information about Customers is collected from forms submitted directly by you or (for online purchases settled via your choice of financial intermediary (e.g. PayPal)), from the personal information you have provided to them and which they include in the payment confirmation emails we receive from them. Members’ details are shared with those Officers of GNSRA who need them to fulfil their functions.

This includes its use to generate mailing lists for our Great North Review, which is issued to all Members plus any discretionary recipients. This mailing is performed for us by a third party as detailed below. Personal information about Customers is only used to complete delivery of ordered items or for the administration of events to which you have subscribed. Data Sharing We only hold your data in order to fulfil our obligations to you. We will never sell or share your data with another party except in the specific instances noted below, where we use third parties to aid in the efficient operation of GNSRA. Names and addresses of Members plus any discretionary recipients are provided to the commercial distributor of the Great North Review and/or other publications, notices and circulations. The distributor is under a contractual obligation to destroy these details once each distribution has been made.
